This past weekend was the last round of the championship at the NMRC track, south of Copenhagen. The track was good with high grip and some fun new jumps â“ especially a triple that demanded some courage to do in one step.

Right from the beginning my car felt good and during the day I only changed a few things. I wanted to increase steering and first I tried going down to 2° rear toe-in, but the car became too nervous. The big difference was going from 0° rear anti-squat to full; this really improved the cornering speed. Normally I use full anti-squat but this time I tried 0° to improve the car on the bumpy parts of the track, but I think the track has to be very bumpy before this is good.

I secured the TQ with two good, fast runs â“ due to some different driving lines and issues on the triple, the other two rounds were a bit disappointing.

In the semi I drove safely and took the win with Claus Nielsen a few seconds behind, and in the A main we also had Ole Harder, giving us a total of three XB8 cars. In the beginning of the final it was Tim Culmsee/HongNor, Claus Nielsen/XB8 and I who had some good battles. We all had good speed and made no mistakes â“ I think the pit crew and spectators enjoyed it as much as we did.

After about 10 minutes I had a small gap and from that point I pretty much in control of the race. After 30 minutes Steffen Culmsee was about to catch me, but it was in between the fuel stops and when he later on had some tire problems I drove home to victory. In the final I had the fastest lap time of day with 34.99sec and at this point the track was more bumpy which proved that the car was doing perfectly.

This gave a win for XB8 in round 8 and also the overall national title!! 2006 was the first year with a team competition, and XRAY also won this trophy.
